Throughout the week, various engaging activities were organized to raise awareness and advocate sustainable solutions to the plastic problem. An integral part of the celebration was a town hall session featuring SESA, a prominent social enterprise in Ghana dedicated to addressing waste pollution and poverty through innovative plastic recovery initiatives and circular economy models.

Employees actively engaged in quizzes and discussions, showcasing their dedication to environmental stewardship. The week's highlight occurred on Thursday, March 21, with Unilever Ghana employees participating in a plastics collection and beach clean-up initiative at MPS, Community 3. A total of 44 employees wholeheartedly lent their support to the cause.

During this collaborative endeavor, Coastal Conservancy experts, consisting of 20 specialized employees, spearheaded the plastic collection, while Zoomlion provided invaluable assistance in managing other types of waste. Together, the team made a significant impact, collecting close to two tons of plastic waste and leaving the beach pristine.

Throughout the Global Recycling Week celebration, Unilever Ghana's unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and community welfare was prominently showcased. By leading initiatives that promote responsible waste management and environmental stewardship, the company exemplifies corporate social responsibility in Ghana and beyond.
